Four-day October 2015 music business retreat to feature guest panelist Angela K. Durden, author, and CEO/founder of MyDigitalCatalog.com
Atlanta, Ga — September 21, 2015 — CEO, founder, and author Angela K. Durden will be presenting information on how songwriters can protect their songs and the rights to those songs. Durden will be a featured panelist at Kevin Shine’s Writing Sessions America annual Unplugged Music Experience Singer/Songwriter Retreat to be held October 22-25, 2015 in Atlanta, Georgia. Kicking off with the Icon Awards, the “Define Your Marquee” four-day event features workshops with industry trailblazers from publishing to performance enhancement and more.
“I’m quite pleased to be invited by Kevin Shine to share knowledge that empowers songwriters, and to show them how to easily and systematically protect and defend their intellectual property rights,” said Angela K. Durden. “There are too many entities out there now quite willing to use the great songs written by songwriters and the music produced by artists, but who also can’t quite seem to share the profits with either.
“I’ve always been one who believes in giving credit where credit is due – and that includes getting paid for what is rightfully yours. Unfortunately, many songwriters and artists are not aware of how to properly do that. My panel will address those steps.”
“I’ve known Angela for several years. She was first introduced to me at SESAC, where she is affiliated as a writer and publisher. But what I know best is that she’s always a great supporter of good business practices that strengthen the music business; and she requires everyone she does business with to hold to the same strong business standards,” said event founder Kevin Shine. “For those who attend the conference on Friday, they will have the enlightening experience of hearing Angela explain how to plug holes in publishing and writing income streams.”
Durden is the author of the book Navigating the New Music Business as a DIY& Indie: Coming Clean with the Down and Dirty, available through Amazon in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and the E.U. She has also authored other business and children’s books, and Twinkle: a memoir.
She is also CEO of Notes2Bucks LLC, which offers services designed to protect and defend intellectual property rights of creators through www.MyDigitalCatalog.com.
This year’s Writing Sessions America Retreat and Conference will provide many opportunities for participants to gain a wealth of industry knowledge crucial to their business success. Panelists and guest speakers will provide attendees with the necessary tools needed to maximize their resources, build a better business model, and define their individual marquee.
